Just Grateful

Today was busy . . . again. I'm tired, so I'm just going to do the gratitude part.

1. I am grateful for CTR night.

2. I am grateful for banana muffins made with half wheat flour and oatmeal berry smoothies for breakfast. They taste good and make me feel so much healthier.

3. I'm grateful I was able to walk along the greenbelt with Nathan today. It was nice to be able to have time to talk and to get exercise, too. It was even great to walk (wrestle) the dogs. Okay, mostly just Abbie. Gus just checks in now and then.

4. I'm grateful for library story time. It's fun for my kids to have something to do, to get out in the sunshine, and to be able to socialize.

5. I am grateful that Zoey (whose been scared of her ant hill ever since the missionaries told her that they pinch) finally got her ants today. I'm grateful that we were able to get them all into the ant hill without any getting out (yeah, I'm a little nervous about touching them, too. That's why they're enclosed in plastic with a locking lid, right?). And I'm grateful that she thinks they're "cool" and "awesome" now that she can watch them.

6. I am grateful that Josie's demonstration for 4H is over. I'm hoping that next year I can remember to help her with it before the day of. She did great, though!

7. I am grateful for root beer float snow cones with cream. Especially when they make my neighbor's day after surgery.

Today I definitely felt God's hand in just making it through the day. Between trying to help with Jo's 4H project (which she needed to coordinate with her partner), library story hour, picking up my friend from the hospital, dentist appointment, and 4H (plus making sure everyone got 3 meals and fitting in walking with Nathan) it was a crazy day and I would have only made it through with some major divine help.

One quick funny story, though. I went to the library today so proud of myself that, between listening to a book on CD and reading Harry Potter, we had listened to an average of 1/2 hour every day this week. I was excited to finally be able to put my name in the family drawing. I went to get all of our reading checked off (the kids and the family) and I overheard the lady at the table tell someone else that they get to enter the drawing if they read a total of 1/2 hour as a family for the week. Yep! 1/2 hour for the whole week. Somehow I had misunderstood. I asked if I got to enter my name for each 1/2 hour I read this week. She just laughed at me.
