This morning, Owen woke up sick, too. I'm afraid that I feel kind of like a ticking time bomb. Every little twinge in my stomach has me worried. But so far, so good.
Also this morning, I went out to check on the chicks and saw that there were two buffs and a chick with a brown face and black body. So, I figured that two more chicks had hatched. Tonight I went out to check again and Mrs. Broody was off her nest and I saw quite a few shells in the nest, but she still was not standing up. I had Nathan help me by picking her up so I could see exactly what we ended up with. After seeing what was under her, I realized that the cute one with the brown face and black body was, most likely, the one that we saw hatching yesterday. We ended up with 8 chicks. We have 3 buffs (one looks like it might be a Rhode Island Red crossed with a buff), two leghorns that we bought, two barred rocks (my kids call them zebra chickens) that we bought, and the one with a brown face and black body. That one I can only guess is a Easter Egger crossed with a buff rooster. There is still one egg under the mom, but I don't have high hopes for it. Of course, I keep thinking she's done and she surprises me. I think I'll leave it until tomorrow night.
We still haven't had cake yet. I think it might petrify before we eat it.
Tonight I am grateful . . .
1. I am grateful that the only time a kid woke me up last night was when Zona wanted to cuddle with me. There was no throwing up in the middle of the night. Yay!!!
2. I am grateful that when the salon doorbell started going off at 4:00 this morning because the water from the rainstorm got in and made the wires connect, Nathan knew how to fix it. I am grateful that he was willing to go stand in the rain and disconnect my doorbell and wrap it in plastic so no more water would get in.
3. I am grateful that I am not sick and that I can take care of my family.
4. I am grateful that I didn't kill my mini rose bush (yet?). I am grateful that it came back to life when I watered it.
5. I am grateful for a little girl who was so excited to spend her birthday money. I love that she looked all over at things that would take most of her money and finally decided to buy a $4 pair of princess shoes and a $1.50 tiara. She is just as happy with those as she would have been spending all of her money.
Today, I saw God's hand in my life. I didn't get sick and I had people who needed me to help them. I was able to do the things that needed to get done along with taking care of my family. I was nervous last night whether I would feel good enough today, but I was blessed to continue to have good health, even when everyone around me was sick.
(I am also grateful for a sister that will help me re-design my blog and who is not afraid to tell me when my blog needs re-designing. Love you!!)

I did not say it needed re-designing.. I asked if you wanted help re-desigining it. There is a difference. But yes, if you're blog needed help, I love you enough to tell you. Thanks for letting me play!
I know. I'm just teasing. Thank you for helping me redesign it. I like it so much better.
Although the old blog design was nice, I did enjoy the re-do. It is fun to read about your family and what is going on with the everything. I'm glad you didn't get sick either! Having been sick this past week, it isn't much fun.
Thanks, C. I really do like the look of the new blog. I feel like it's more mine than something that everyone else has, too. I'm VERY glad that I didn't get sick. I'm sorry that you were sick. That's no fun.
