Busy Day

Tonight, I'm exhausted!! I'm not even sure why. It was a busy day, but not really physically demanding. We did pretty good on cleaning the house and doing rotations. The kids had fun with it and ended up doing a few rotations for longer than 1/2 hour. It also took longer than an hour for us to do our cleaning job on the house. I'm thinking I might just have us work for an hour and if we're not done, we can finish it the next day.

We also went to the school movie today. We got to see Megamind. It was better than I thought it would be. My kids had already seen it and were excited to see it again. After the movie Zoey got to go buy a Cinderella Barbie and Cinderella's mice with the rest of her birthday money.

We actually finished rotations after the movie, then read some more Harry Potter. I'm realizing that Zoey has a much shorter attention span than the other kids do when it comes to books. She played while we read, but she was still listening. We finished just in time to make dinner, then baths, and more Harry Potter before bed. Crazy busy day, but rewarding, too.

Tonight I'm grateful . . .

1. I'm grateful that the kids school does PTO movies. I love having an excuse to go snuggle with my kids in a place that I can't be doing dishes, folding laundry, or doing anything else except relaxing and watching a movie.

2. I'm grateful that our caterpillars are all still alive and growing. All of the kids have commented today on how big they are getting. I think they've at least doubled in size since Saturday. It's been a fun project.

3. I'm grateful for visiting teachers. I love to visit with them and discuss the lesson and get their point of view on things.

4. I'm grateful that "chef" Zoey picked corn dogs and french fries for dinner tonight. It was a quick, easy dinner that I didn't have to fight anyone to eat.

5. I am grateful that I finally got my kitchen all the way clean tonight. With trying to do so many other things lately, I've just done the bare minimum for a few days and it felt good to get all of the had dishes done. I'm also grateful that Zoey helped with the dishes even though I messed up on the dinner chore wheel and thought she was chef.

This morning I realized that I wasn't sure how my schedule was going to work out. I was supposed to go pick up a friend from the hospital probably right when we were in the movie. Last week I had put off the movie and it kept getting put off. We almost didn't make it. I had decided that that was an appointment that I was going to keep. This morning, I prayed that my schedule would work out. I got a call about an hour later telling me that they wanted to keep my friend one more night to observe some things. I feel bad that those things are going on, but I'm glad my schedule worked out. I actually think it's good that they are keeping her, too. She's had some issues for a while and now they will get taken care of. I think we were blessed all around.
