Happy Birthday to Us!!

Since we were in Sun Valley on my birthday and I would be 5 days out from surgery on Nathan's birthday, we decided to celebrate both birthdays on Conference weekend. That was a great idea. It didn't really work out that way. Nathan did a great job of getting all of my presents and wrapping them so cute. The kids were so excited to give them to me. I, on the other hand, didn't do such a great job. I was stressed about getting everything done before my surgery and so I put off getting Nathan's presents. I had ideas, just didn't get it done. I was planning on going out with the kids to get presents the Thursday before. I had almost everything done that I needed to. Then, Jo announced that her throat really hurt. We took her in to the doctor and, yep, she had strep. So, I wasn't going shopping. We decided to buy our stuff off of Amazon. It actually ended up being a great idea because we had a coupon and it had lots of fun stuff. I just wish we would have thought about it 2 weeks earlier. The shipment didn't even come until AFTER his birthday. So, on Conference weekend, I got to have a little party and Nathan got his presents later.Jo gave me a bottle of oil for my clippers that have started making funny noises whenever I try to cut hair.Owen gave me some fun hair accessories which are always fabulous because I can't stand to have my hair in my face. It's almost always back. I hate always doing the same old thing.Zoey gave me a measuring tape for sewing. I have been needing one since I ironed one end of mine and sliced through the middle with my cutting tool. Yes, I'm brilliant when it comes to sewing. It's actually amazing that I can have anything turn out when I sew.

Nathan got me another fun game like "Peanut Butter and Jelly" called "The Storybook Game" and some yummy smelling lotion. I got spoiled!!

The kids did have fun buying for Nathan as well. Owen bought him a book of Puff the Magic Dragon that they have in preschool. He was so excited to read it with him. Jo got him a cool book with old tractors in it. Zoey found a stuffed elephant that Daddy just HAD to have. We also got him a CD of Acoustic Eidolon that he had been wanting and a book from Mythbusters. We also got him some chalk for his chalkboard out in his shop. It's made extra durable for little kids, so hopefully it won't break so easily on him. He was such a good sport to wait for them and to not care if I didn't wrap them. He just opened them straight out of the Amazon box. He's such a good guy. I, on the other hand, am not such a good wife. I didn't even take pictures of his party. I guess we'll just have to remember that one.

I think we both had good, fun birthday celebrations; even if they were a little unconventional.
