During Christmas Dinner at Gabby and Yani's house, I tried to announce that we were going to have a New Year's Eve party at our house. Tara informed me that that was fine, but anyone who was anyone was going to be at her house for Cash's birthday/New Year's Eve party. We didn't want to just sit home while everyone else was at Tara's fun party, so we decided to crash her party. We had lots of fun. And there were lots of people there.
(I need to add a disclaimer to this post: Josie stole my camera at the party and she's responsible for most of these pictures. I think she got some great pictures - especially for being 7 - and she got some that I wouldn't have been able to get.)

Nick and Abby were there all the way from Utah. It was fun to see them and Stella.

Here's Kyle, Yani, and Laurene.

Roger was THRILLED to be there. This is one of those pictures that I wouldn't have been able to get. Thanks Jo.

Here's Cash getting ready for the opening of the presents.

Stella and Calvin were always there in case Cash needed a little help.

Calvin, always being the good big brother. Helping Cash out when he's not quite sure what to do with the presents.

Zoey was just excited that Tia Tara had licorice.

See, a cheeser still with licorice in her mouth.

Owen was just a nut.

And again.

I think I've about decided that Jo is in charge of the camera. People make much better faces for her than they ever did for me. Well, Gabby usually makes good faces anyway, but still . . .

Here's Cash with his haul.

And you can't have a first birthday party without the baby attacking the cake pictures.

He was so timid. It was cute to see. At first he wasn't quite sure what to do with it, but he realized that it tasted good and kept eating.

He never did attack it like some kids did, but he got happier and happier as he ate.

I loved the cake!! Tara did such a good job on the blocks. Personally, I would have had a hard time attacking that cake, too.
We did have lots of fun and we even got to do our party the next day. I somehow ended up without pictures of our party (I didn't let Jo have the camera apparently), but we had fun. We had a massive game of Peanut Butter and Jelly where the kids ended up ganging up on their parents. Then we played our new game called "Would You Rather" that we got for Christmas. It was lots of fun.

I love Jo's pictures!! I think she gets the gene from her Grandma. Thank goodness for digital cameras. The kiddos got a hold of mine before we had a digital camera, and we have rolls and rolls of film filled with out of focus pictures of toys, furniture, food covered faces etc. Now I don't mind when they practice their photography skills because it doesn't cost me anything (unless they break the camera).
