Re-cycled Halloween costumes

Last night was our Halloween carnival. It's really fun. The kids get out of school for the day (it's usually the end of the trimester anyway). The PTA transforms the elementary school into a carnival. Each classroom houses a different game where each kid wins at least a small prize and sometimes a big prize. In the cafeteria, they have dinner: baked potatoes with all the fixin's, hamburgers, corn dogs, nachos, cotton candy, doughnuts, the works. They sell tickets to support the PTA and you use your tickets to pay for stuff in the carnival. Some people really get into it. Everyone is welcome to wear costumes, just no masks. Usually I try to make costumes for the kids, but this year I decided that with our trip and potty training, I wasn't going to stress about making costumes. I told the kids that they could be whatever they wanted as long as we already had the costume for it. Zoey was a lab assistant in a costume I made for Jo when she was just over a year. Whenever anyone asks HER what she's being for Halloween, she insists she's being Dad. This is about what Nathan looks like when we go visit him at work. I actually think all of the kids costumes they pick out show what an influence Nathan has on their lives. They all really look up to him. Here she is with her Erlenmeyer flask.Owen decided to be a cowboy. He was the same thing last year, so we already had the chaps, vest, boots, and hat. Nathan let him use his own handkerchief. We did have to buy him a new shirt because he grew TWO sizes since last year. Where the carnival was at the school, we decided it wasn't a good idea to let him take his gun and holster, so Nathan tied his hog whip on to Owen's belt. Owen was so proud.Jo was an EMT. We already had the costume because one year the kids were told they could dress up, but had to be heroes. Everyone else went as Superman, Wonderwoman, etc, but Jo knew that EMT's were heroes because they saved people, so we made her an EMT costume modeled after Nathan's EMT jacket complete with stethoscope and radio. Here's Jo the EMT saving Owen the cowboy. I wish you could see Owen's face better. His pained expression is great!!And here he is cozying up to her, but she is having none of it!And here are my three adorable little Nathans, I mean kids.
