Here I am finally getting around to blogging about Owen's birthday that was over a week ago. We've had a lot going on. Regardless of the fact that Zoey had been up all night the night before his birthday, Owen had a great birthday. He loved being king for the day. Nathan and I ended up going to see our sister-in-law and Nathan's brother in a play that night, but Owen didn't seem to mind. I told him that since it was his birthday, he could choose whatever babysitter he wanted all by himself. He thought that was cool. We did end up mixing up his food a little. Usually they get to pick breakfast, lunch, and dinner on their birthday. I knew we wouldn't be here for his dinner, so we had it for lunch instead and the babysitter fixed his lunch for dinner. We also had his party earlier in the day. He didn't seem to mind. Although, Jo kept insisting that he couldn't open his presents yet because he had been born at night so technically he wasn't five until that night. We did it anyway. He chose khai giaw (a Thai egg dish) for breakfast, spagettios for lunch (that ended up being dinner), and broccoli cheese soup in breadbowls for dinner (lunch). Here are the pictures from the birthday.

My sad attempt at decorating cupcakes in the fifteen minutes I had before lunch. I don't want to hear it!
