Today, Nathan and I decided to take the dogs on our walk.  That's all fine and good for Nathan.  His dog does fabulously off the leash.  He just clicks or whistles and Gus knows exactly what Nathan is thinking.  Abbie, on the other hand, takes two hands to control and she doesn't fully understand the leash.  For example, she tries to go one way around a post, when I go the other.  I must admit that she did do much better this time than she's done before.  But, I started today with a full body workout.

The kids had piano lessons this morning.  They walked over to piano, but by the time it was time for them to come home, it was pouring down rain, so I went and picked them up.  Owen is excited/nervous that he gets to add his thumb to his songs this week.  He was excited that he passed off his songs from last week, though.  Jo was excited to pass off some songs, too.  And she's been working on learning "My Heavenly Father Loves Me."  She said that her teacher gave her most of the song to learn this week.

This afternoon, we went to the PTO movie again.  We saw Gulliver's Travels with Jack Black.  I wouldn't recommend seeing it.  There were some good parts, but it's not really kid friendly in my opinion.

When we got home, I started scraping the doors to get ready to paint.  I have some parts of the doors that the paint comes off SO easily.  There's some sort of gold something underneath.  After my experience with the chairs, I'm a little wary of painting anything where the paint comes off that easily without making sure I've taken that into consideration.  After thinking about it tonight, I think I'm going to get some Gripper primer at Home Depot to paint those sections of the door.  I'm hoping to get that tomorrow and start painting on Thursday while the kids are at Thursdays with Yani.  I'm hoping that that works well.  I read some reviews that said that they painted with it over stained wood and vinyl and it stuck.   If I have some left over, I might tackle the chairs again.  We'll see how ambitious I'm feeling.

Right now the kids are taking showers and getting ready for bed, so I had just a few minutes when I couldn't scrape the doors in the bathroom.  I decided now was a good time to do my blog.  Once they're in bed, I'm back to scraping and hopefully get to puttying, sanding and washing.

1.  I am grateful that I figured out how to download audible books onto mp3 players.  It shouldn't have been that big of a deal, but I didn't want to let it beat me.  I'm grateful because Owen has loved listening to Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat all day.

2.  I am grateful that I thought about painting the doors differently.  I'm hoping that was inspiration and everything will work out fabulously.

3.  I am grateful that it's almost the kids bedtime.  They've been really good all day, but they seem to be losing their goodness.  I'm glad the day's almost done.

4.  I am grateful that Abbie is doing better at the leash.  I hope someday I can love walking with her.

5.  I am grateful that Nathan came home and cooked dinner tonight and took care of the kids until he had to go to the church.  It was nice to be able to focus on my project and not have to stop to take care of dinner.

Okay, the kids are done (or should be done, if they're not) with their showers.  Time to go read with them and get them to bed.
