Remodelling

Tonight, I'm posting while sitting in one of my dryer chairs down in my salon.  Nathan and I decided that our next project in the remodel was to finish the electrical in the salon.  At first, we didn't think we had enough outlets, but in looking through boxes for other things, it ended up that we have just enough.  I'm excited to finish that aspect of the remodel.  It's making the salon look even more finished.  I also put up the cover for my exhaust fan, the cover for my heater vent, and a cover for some wiring for future co-ax/ethernet needs.  We don't have enough faceplates right now, I put up the ones that we have.

Today I took my neighbor to the doctor and the kids and I stayed in a terrarium that was near the doctor's office and read some Harry Potter.  When I got home, I gave my second haircut in my salon.  I really love cutting hair.  I love it when people come in all sad and leave feeling like a new person.  I can't fix things on the inside, but I can make them feel better when they look in the mirror.  I think that's what sparked the wanting to finish electrical in the salon.  I feel a need to make it look as professional as possible.

When the lady called to make an appointment, she asked how much I charge.  When I told her I can't charge yet because my salon is not done and inspected, she said she would bring me dinner sometime.  When I opened my door, she handed me a yummy looking chicken pot pie.  I had already planned and started making baked beans, but I decided that pot pie sounded better for tonight.  We cooked it and it was YUMMY!!  Nathan's thinking of telling her that she's welcome to not pay for haircuts forever.  I agree.  Tomorrow I'm going to a bridal luncheon for Nathan's brother's fiance and I'll take the baked beans there.

I'd better get back to helping Nathan.  But first. . .

1.  I am grateful that Owen went out and started weeding the raspberries.  I've been saying for a while that they need to get weeded.  I'm grateful that he did that for me when he knew that I wanted it done.

2.  I am grateful that I was able to spend time reading with my kids today.  I love that they are so into Harry Potter.  It's fun to read with them.

3.  I am grateful that I had chicken pot pie tonight for dinner.  I love bartering.  I always feel like both of us get more than we would have otherwise.

4.  I am grateful that I have a husband that will give up his night to help me remodel my salon.  I love how it's looking.

5.  I am grateful that I forgot to start cooking my baked beans this morning.  I'm grateful that when I started them when my visiting teachers were here, they talked me through them and helped me know that I needed to add more water or I'd scorch them.  I felt intimidated to try and cook in front of them, especially since it was my first time using dry beans, but they were very supportive and helped me a ton.
