Fun FHE activity for kids
Yesterday was FHE again. We have quite a few activities that we find work well with our kids. They love to color pictures. We play "Don't Eat Pete (that's Zoey's FAVORITE game!!)." We recently found a new game that is fun and easy for kids to play. It's called "Peanut Butter and Jelly." There are no words on any of the cards, so no reading is required. Owen is the funnest to watch play it. When he plays "the fly" on someone else's sandwich, he does, what we call, his wicked laugh. It's fun. The purpose of the game is to make three sandwiches before everyone else. If a fly card is played, you get to put a fly on someone elses sandwich and they can't continue with that sandwich. They have to start a new one. There are also ant cards which make it so you can steal someone elses card. The rules are easy which is nice because it means that Jo and Owen can each have their own hands and it's not just Nathan and I playing against each other.
The kids even talked us into playing it for our New Year's party with all of Nathan's family. It was fun to see all the adults getting in on it. The kids loved getting their parents with fly and ant cards. I think that this game is fun for kids, but adults can have fun with it, too. It's been great to add to our activities for FHE.

You are going to traumatize your kids. Remember our "innocent" games of "Sorry" that I have now found out have scarred you all for life. I predict years from now Josie will remind Owen, "Remember how you put your fly on my sandwich, and then laughed maniacally." ;)
We might have to try that game. Stella likes to play Cabbage Patch Memory, but that's about it.
